About Me

My name is Peter Schuszter. I have been working as a UX consultant and information architect for 2 years at leading Hungarian digital agency Kirowski - Isobar, a member of global agency network Isobar. Prior to that I designed web application interfaces for another 6 years, including UK-based development firm Monochrome. For details, download my CV.

What I enjoy most in a UX role

Most of all, I love designing web apps that are meant to be used long term on a regular basis - such as an internetbank or an online booking engine. The idea that we might come up with a design that would make a lot of people's life easier day after day, can truly make you want to go work on Monday mornings too. During these projects, I often find myself involved in heated discussions with my UX colleagues about even small details of a design solution.

On the other hand, I love client-facing consultant roles - discussing with stakeholders at the early stages of development, collaborating with them during research phases, presenting them our ideas. To succeed as a UX consultant, I think what helped me the most were my strong interpersonal skills: my ability to listen to, cooperate with and influence my colleagues and clients.

How I got to UX

I studied finance at Budapest University of Economics, but I got into to interface design so early that I never wanted to do anything else. I started as a visual designer, picked up coding skills along the way, and the moment I conducted my first usability test on one of my prototypes made me realize that involving users in the UX process and researching how they interact with my design is something I will enjoy for a very long time. I am now working as a full-time UX consultant and information architect.
